Miracle Lady
Anyways we left off with me and the girls walking down the street and me praying a car would stop and pick us up. As we were walking this little white Toyota pickup pulled up. He had a little boy in the front seat and said let me take him home and I will come back. The truck was not big enough for all of us to fit in. Although I would have squeezed in if we had to. We kept walking because I knew we had to get help. We were all beyond weak and had not eaten or drank anything in days. After a few minutes an SUV came over the hill we were walking up and stopped. A woman got out and after seeing the shape I was in asked what happened. I told her frantically that my husband had tried to kill me and pointed out our house to her. She said get in the car. She helped me get in because I was hardly able to move. She asked where I wanted to go and I told her the church up the street. I figured if we could get to the church we could get help and we would be safe. We got to the church and there was no one there. So she said she was taking me to the police station. When we arrived at the police station the lady went in and couldn't find anyone so she came back out. She said she had a friend that lived behind the police station and she would use her phone and call the station and see if she could get an answer. So we went to her friends house and used her phone. She and her friend came out and had a couple Gatorade's and a bag of crackers and cookies. I gave them to my girls because I knew they needed them bad. I ate and drank a little. I knew my babies needed them more than I did. It was like someone had just handed us a steak and baked potato. It was just a blessing to have something to eat and drink. We went back around to the police station and an officer was waiting outside. He opened the car door and was just taken aback by what he saw. I was covered in blood and bruises and my girls were probably dirty and malnourished. He asked me what had happened and I filled him in on the details of what had happened. I also told him my oldest daughter was still with Josh and I was worried about her.
The officer then asked if I wanted to press charges and I told him I wasn't sure. I was terrified that Josh would find a way out of it and he would come find me and the girls and kill us. I was also worried about him hurting my family although I hadn't seen them in a long time. The officer assured me I would be safe and urged me to press charges. My head was saying don't press charges but my heart was saying you have to do it to save and my girls and I. After a few minutes I agreed to press charges. I was terrified but I knew I had no choice. The officer then called an ambulance and they came and picked up the girls and I. The officer asked if I had someone to pick up my girls but I didn't know how to get in touch with my family so the girls just rode in the ambulance too. I felt they needed to be checked out too. When we were on the way to the hospital in the ambulance I was in so much physical pain and I was worried about what was gonna happen to me and my girls. I didn't know if I would even survive. I kept trying to go to sleep but the medic kept me talking and kept me alert. They had me in a neck brace just as a precaution and I was strapped to the gurney. Every bump in the road was so painful especially to my head. We finally arrived at the Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, Texas. Once they got us inside the staff took my girls to the nursery, bathed them and fed them. They eventually fell asleep. I kept asking the nurses how my girls were. They just assured me that the girls were good and well taken care of. They rushed me into a trauma room. I didn't know how bad of shape I was really in.
Come back for more on my next post.
God Bless
